It’s been a long and devastating week. Back in Otherworld, war has decimated the elfin city of Elqaneve, our father has gone missing, and Shadow Wing has managed to obtain another spirit seal. On the home front, somebody burned down my bar, the Wayfarer, killing eight people, including a friend.
To make matters worse, we still haven’t found a way to stop Lowestar Radcliff—the daemon in charge of a supernatural corporate power grab. He’s attempting to awaken Suvika, the lord of vice and corrupt businessmen, and we have to stop him. Our enemies are closing in on all sides, and this time, there’s no place to hide…

Book fifteen! Crimson Veil will be book fifteen in the Otherworld Series and it’s hard for even me to believe. Fifteen books ago, the D’Artigo Sisters started their adventures, and they had no clue how far their journey would take them. Nor did I.
I knew they would find love, but I didn’t realize Camille would end up married to three gorgeous hunks—a dragon, a youkai, and a dark Fae. I had no clue that Delilah would become a Death Maiden pledged to the Autumn Lord. And I never expected Menolly to overcome her fears about her vampirism and go on to marry a lovely werepuma named Nerissa, or that she would become so enmeshed with the son of the Vampire Queen. At the beginning, while I knew they would be facing Shadow Wing, I had no clue how far the war would spread—or that it would cross over into Otherworld, and that Elqaneve would go down in flames. Or that the sisters would be there, wading through the thick of the destruction.
And now, with book fifteen, Menolly and her sisters are picking up the pieces from the destruction that happened in Autumn Whispers. Their father is still missing and presumed dead. Menolly is looking for the arsonist who burned down her bar, killing eight people with the flames. The sisters are searching for the daemon Lowestar Radcliff, trying to find him before he wakens Suvika. They’re trying to find Violet, a missing woodland Fae who was kidnapped by sex slavers. Queen Asteria is dead and Sharah is valiantly trying to uphold her new role as the new Elfin Queen. Iris is coping with newborn twins, while Chase is valiantly struggling as a single father. Life at the D’Artigo household isn’t easy right now.But the girls are resilient and they refuse to knuckle under for anybody. And they intend to win this battle, no matter the cost required.
That’s one of the things I love about writing this series. Camille, Delilah, and Menolly refuse to crumble. They may have doubts, and dark nights of their soul when things seem bleak, but together, they keep pushing forward and their paths keep expanding out. They may have different destinies, but to them, family comes first—and that includes their extended group of friends and lovers.
From the streets of Seattle, to the Otherworld forests of Darkynwyrd, the worlds of Earthside and Otherworld keep expanding as I write. The D’Artigo altaverse grows with every book, and with every book I discover new things. While there are other books and series I am/will be writing, I also hope to keep writing about the adventures of Camille, Menolly, and Delilah for a long time—and to discover far more about their world, and the magic that makes it tick.
