Since her defection from the PsyNet and into the SnowDancer wolf pack, Sienna Lauren has had one weakness: Hawke. Alpha and dangerous, he lost the woman who would’ve been his mate long ago. Now he walks alone. But Sienna stirs his primal heart, even as he tells himself she is far too young to handle the wild fury of the wolf. Yet as they strip away each other’s secrets, a deadly enemy is striking at everything the pack holds dear…but Sienna’s darkest secret may savage the pack that is her home, and the alpha who is its heartbeat.
I’m so excited to chat to you about Hawke and Sienna’s book!
These two have been waiting a long time for their story to be told. At times, I was tempted to rush forward and write their book, because I so desperately wanted them to find their happy ending.
However, that would’ve done a disservice to both Hawke and Sienna. Part of what makes Kiss of Snowsuch a strong book, from my point of view, is the emotional journey these two have taken to get to the point where they are able to consider a relationship.
Sienna is no longer the angry teenager we first met, and Hawke is no longer driven by the unadulterated rage Sascha sensed in him in Slave to Sensation. They’ve grown and become stronger, and—and I think this is so important—they’ve caused, or been the catalyst for, the emotional changes in one another.
Hawke’s reaction to Sienna, and Sienna’s to Hawke, has made both characters question everything they thought they “knew,” shaking their worldview on the deepest level. Such a shakeup was necessary, because while Hawke might be older, Sienna is his equal in the stubborn stakes.
The age issue is something a lot of people have been concerned about, but for me, it was never the biggest obstacle in their way. I knew from the instant they met that it was always going to be Hawke and Sienna—attempting to pair either one with someone more “suitable” just wouldn’t have worked. Sometimes, love isn’t easy or uncomplicated, and that’s very much true for this couple.
But while their story is intense and emotional, it’s also playful and just a little bit wicked. Because after all, we do have a wolf changeling in the mix. Remember, this is the man who finds dangerous amusement in teasing his fellow alpha, Lucas. Now imagine all that sinful wickedness focused on a woman. Would you kick him out of bed? ;- )
I can only hope I’ve done justice to Hawke and Sienna and their story, and that you fall in love with Kiss of Snow. As always, don’t hesitate to write to me if you have any questions.
