I’m excited to present Wild Cat, a new novel in the “Shifters Unbound” series.
Until twenty years ago, Shifters lived in relative solitude “in the wild,” until they were rounded up by humans, made to wear Collars to inhibit their violent tendencies, and herded into Shiftertowns. They now live in Shiftertowns across the world, the three species—wildcats, wolves, and bears—dwelling side-by-side.
Though humans think they’ve tamed Shifters, the Shifters know they are getting stronger, not weaker. One day, they will throw off their chains…
Diego Escobar, a police detective, has never met a Shifter. That is, not until he responds to a call for backup for what he thinks will be a routine arrest for trespassing.
What he finds on the fifty-first floor of the half-constructed building is Cassidy Warden, a beautiful, naked woman who shifts to a snow leopard to save Diego’s life.
But Diego is forced to arrest Cassidy, because for Shifters, trespassing is a serious offense. Shifter Division expects Diego to mete out the full punishment, but Diego, sympathizing with Cassidy’s grief and anger over the mate she lost a year ago, lets her off lightly. He understands her feelings, because he lost his partner to a shooting not long ago, and he shares Cassidy’s thirst for revenge.
Diego tells Cassidy to confine herself to her Shiftertown for a while, and expect Diego to be checking on her every day.
As Diego enters Shiftertown for the first time, he’s struck by how protective these creatures are of each other, and how staunchly they care for their cubs and those in need.
When Cassidy is stalked by the same man who might have killed her mate, Diego becomes her protector. And she—his. At the same time, Cassidy feels the mate bond she thought dead forever stirring inside her, this time for the human Diego Escobar.
Follow Diego and Cassidy’s adventure and their path to love; and meet more Shifters—Cassidy’s brother, Eric, the Shiftertown leader; Shane and Brody, the grizzlies next door, with their formidable mother, Nell; Diego’s brother Xav; their mother, who taught Diego the meaning of courage; and Iona, who is more than she seems.
Welcome back to Shiftertown, and enjoy your stay!
