Amy Einhorn Books launched in February 2009. The imprint publishes a select list of fiction, narrative nonfiction, and commercial nonfiction titles. The overarching tenet of Amy Einhorn Books is to hit the sweet spot between literary and commercial—intelligent writing with a strong narrative and great storytelling. The first title published in the imprint was the number-one New York Times bestseller The Help by Kathryn Stockett. Other number-one New York Times–bestselling books from the imprint include Let’s Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson and The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty, as well as the New York Times bestsellers The Postmistress by Sarah BlakeThe Weird Sisters by Eleanor Brown, City of Women by David Gillham, and The Book of Awesome by Neil Pasricha. Amy Einhorn joined Penguin Group (USA) in 2007 to start her eponymous imprint at G. P. Putnam’s Sons. A graduate of Stanford University, she has been in publishing for more than twenty years, since joining the editorial department of Farrar, Straus & Giroux in 1990. Ms. Einhorn has also worked at Villard, Poseidon Press, and Pocket Books, and was editorial director of Washington Square Press and hardcover editor in chief at Grand Central Publishing. She has published a broad spectrum of New York Times bestsellers, including I Like You by Amy Sedaris, The Widow of the South by Robert Hicks, Good Grief and Happiness Sold Separately by Lolly Winston, and Hypocrite in a Pouffy White Dress by Susan Jane Gilman.
