Brian Tart was named President and Publisher of Gotham in 2014. He remains in his separate role as President and Publisher of Dutton, and is also President and Publisher of Avery and Viking Studio. He joined Penguin in 1998 as the Editor in Chief of Dutton and was named Publisher in 2005 and then President in 2006. He has published #1 bestselling authors such as Ken Follett, Harlan Coben, Eckhart Tolle, Al Franken, and Mark Owen, author of No Easy Day. A twenty-year veteran of the publishing industry, Mr. Tart started his career as an Editorial Assistant at Bantam Books and rose to Senior Editor before leaving to join Dutton in 1998.

Lisa Johnson has been working with Avery since 2008 as Vice President, Associate Publisher. She is also Associate Publisher of Gotham Books and Viking Studio. She joined Penguin in 1991 as Publicity Director for Dutton and Plume, was named Vice President in 1995, and added marketing to her responsibilities in 2005. Before joining Penguin, she was Publicity Director for Putnam and previously worked at Random House and Simon & Schuster.

Megan Newman is the Vice President and Editorial Director of Avery. She also runs Viking Studio, a high quality illustrated book imprint, and acquires for Gotham. Her recent New York Times bestsellers include Wheelmen by Reed Albergotti and Vanessa O’Connell, and I Beat the Odds by Michael Oher. Prior to joining Penguin in 2004, Megan was the editorial director of HarperResource where she published bestselling books by Nicholas Perricone, Bobbi Brown, Wayne Dyer, Lily Pulitzer, and more.
Lucia Watson is a Senior Editor acquiring for the Avery, Gotham, and Viking Studio imprints. Lucia began her publishing career as an editorial assistant at Viking in 1999, and joined Avery in 2005. She acquires a diverse list of books in categories including health, psychology, science, parenting, memoir, food narrative, cooking, and lifestyle. Lucia’s recent titles include New York Times bestseller Prevent & Reverse Heart Disease by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn and New York Times bestseller Marbles by Ellen Forney, as well as Gutbliss by Robynne Chutkan, MD, Canyon Ranch: Nourish by Scott Uehlein, The Oh She Glows Cookbook by Angela Liddon, and the James Beard Award-winning What Katie Ateby Katie Quinn Davies.
