Razorbill, an imprint of Penguin Random House, is dedicated to young adult and middle grade books. We are committed to taking risks and exploring new ways to tell stories.

Razorbill’s broad-ranging young adult hardcover fiction list includes Jay Asher’s debut novel, Thirteen Reasons Why, a perennial #1 New York Times bestseller and multiple award-winner that has been published in thirty-one languages. Razorbill’s popular series titles include Falling Kingdoms by New York Times bestselling author Morgan Rhodes, Zodiac by Romina Russell, and Richelle Mead’s #1 international bestselling Bloodlines series and Vampire Academy series, which was adapted for film by the Weinstein Company. Razorbill is also home to the instant New York Times bestseller An Ember in the Ashes, an epic high fantasy by debut author Sabaa Tahir. Paramount has acquired the film rights to An Ember in the Ashes, and the highly anticipated sequel will be out in spring 2016.

Razorbill publishes quirky and innovative books as well, like Rodrigo Corral and Jessica Anthony’s 2012 App of the Year Award–winning Chopsticks,  and Jenny Slate and Dean Fleischer-Camp’s  Marcel the Shell with Shoes On: Things About Me and its sequel, The Most Surprised I’ve Ever Been. Our nonfiction backlist includes Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s Influence, The Teen Vogue Handbook: An Insider’s Guide to Careers in Fashion , and Classy by Derek Blasberg. Razorbill also publishes the Rookie Yearbooks, visually stunning and thoroughly engaging anthologies featuring the best content from Rookiemag.com, curated by Rookie founder and editor Tavi Gevinson. Rookie Yearbook Four will be coming out in fall 2015.

Razorbill’s middle grade titles include Matthew Ward’s The Fantastic Family Whipple, the popular Shark Wars series, and Space Rocks! by McSweeney’s and New Yorker contributor Tom O’Donnell. Razorbill also published The Creature Department, a collaboration between award-winning author Robert Paul Weston and Framestore, the visual effects company best known for their groundbreaking work on Alfonso Cuarón’s film Gravity. Most recently, Razorbill came out with the critically acclaimed Ratscalibur by New York Times bestselling author Josh Lieb, which the New York Times called “a witty mash-up of favorite fantasy motifs.”

Look for Razorbill to continue to innovate as it publishes the very best of young adult and middle grade fiction and nonfiction.
