The 2014 Orion Book Award nominees have been announced and among the four fiction finalists is Archipelago by Monique Roffey, a mesmerizing tale of a father and daughter’s sailing adventure from Trinidad to the Galapagos Islands. This book previously won the 2013 OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature Each spring, the Orion Book Award is presented to books that deepen the reader’s connection to the natural world through fresh ideas and excellence in writing.  Initiated in 2007, the award has been conferred annually by Orion, a bimonthly magazine that publishes writing and art that explore the connection between nature and culture, and seeks to inspire new thinking about how humanity might live on Earth justly, sustainably, and joyously. The award winners will be announced in the second week of May.
