At last night’s 68th annual Edgar Awards, Penguin Group (USA) authors Robert Crais (pictured far right) and Carolyn Hart (fifth from right) were presented with the Mystery Writers of America’s Grand Master Awards for their great contributions to the mystery genre and their overall bodies of work.  Crais’ most recent New York Times bestseller was The Suspect (HC: Putnam, 1/22/13; PB: Berkley, 1/7/14). His next book, The Promise (Putnam, 11/4), will feature characters introduced in The Suspect along with Crais’ longtime detective characters Elvis Cole and Joe Pike.  Hart’s newest title, Death at the Door, the latest in her bestselling Death on Demand Bookstore series, goes on sale next week (Berkley Hardcover, 5/6). Alex Marwood (sixth from left above), author of The Wicked Girls (Penguin Books, 7/30/13), won the Edgar Award for Best Paperback Original. The Best Juvenile Edgar Award went to Penguin Random House author Amy Timberlake for One Came Home (Knopf Books for Young Readers). Cover of Snow by Jenny Milchman (Ballantine Books) won the Mary Higgins Clark Award. Congratulations to all of our Penguin Random House award winners and honorees.
