Jon Scieszka

Who He Is

Jon Scieszka grew up in Flint, Michigan, and went to school at Culver Military Academy in Indiana, where he was a Lieutenant. He later studied at Columbia University in New York, where he received an M.F.A. in fiction. Jon served as the country's first-ever National Ambassador for Young People's Literature, acting as a spokesperson for children's literature. He lives in Brooklyn, NY with his family.

What He Writes

Jon Scieszka's silly, fun stories are beloved by children. He is the author of the Caldecott Honor-winning, The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales, the twisted fairytale The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs, the historical fiction/time-travelling series The Time Warp Trio, and the hilarious autobiography, Knucklehead. He writes for children of all ages.
