The Adventures of Daniel Boom AKA Loud Boy

By D.J. Steinberg | Illustrated by Brian Smith
Ages 6-8 | Grades 1-3

Why Boys Will Read It:

This chapter book story in graphic novel format will engage early readers!

What It's About:

In this action-packed and fast-paced series, Daniel and his friends each have a problem. Daniel has no volume control of his voice, while other kids throw tantrums or fidget constantly. When they face threats like the evil Kid-Rid corporation, Daniel and his friends tap into their own bad habits, which are actually superpowers, to restore peace and defeat the villains!

How to Teach It:

Bad habits can be annoying, but sometimes, they can be useful! Have students think of bad habits (either their own or imaginary) and brainstorm some possible ways that the bad habits can be good. Then have students write their own superhero story with a character who has that bad habit (aka superpower)!
