Quantum Prophecy

By Michael Carroll
Ages 10 up | Grades 5 up

Why Boys Will Read It:

Fast-paced and full of suspense.

What It's About:

A superhuman race, vanished!

Ten years ago, all the superhumans vanished. No one knows what happened to them...until now. A new generation of heroes has emerged, endowed with unimaginable powers, and these young crime fighters are suiting up to take on London's worst. As they rise to take the place of the lost generation, the truth behind the explosive final battle that occurred ten years ago between the superheroes and the supervillains is exposed. On the run from everyone, and not knowing who is friend or foe, the one ability the new heroes are going to need most is the power to distinguish good from evil. And as a new threat surfaces in America, every action will bring Quantum's dark prophecy closer to fulfillment.

How to Teach It:

Analyze the difference between good and evil.

Sometimes the line between good and evil is VERY thin. It can take just one small circumstance to turn someone to the dark side. Discuss with students whether the banishment of a super-powerful, superhuman race was really evil, or perhaps good. How do students determine the difference between the two?
