We Give Books combines the joy of reading with the power of helping others.

We Give Books is a free website that enables anyone with internet access to put books in the hands of children who don't have them, simply by reading online.

Share the power and pleasure of reading, and teach a child in your life about the importance of helping others at the same time. Simply choose the literacy charity you want to read for and then select the Penguin and DK children's books you want to read. For every book you read, a brand new children's book will be donated to the nonprofit you select.

Teach a child in your life to become a lifelong reader and a lifelong giver.

"I am thrilled to be part of We Give Books. Everyone should be on the same page when it comes to reading. Books feed dreams. And shouldn't we all be dreamers?"

"This is education empowering education! Similar to Pennies for Peace, We Give Books provides an opportunity for adults in the US to help open kids' minds and hearts to the fact that they can make a real difference in the world. Teaching our children about the power of compassion and the power of education using a tool that reinforces their own reading skills and love of books is a win-win combination. What a great new way to promote literacy both here in the US and in all places where We Give Books charity partners operate."

"'We Give Books' is an undertaking of great creativity and generosity that is destined to introduce thousands of children to the delights of reading. It has always struck me as cruelly ironic that the kids whose lives are the hardest — who need the escapism and fantasy of literature the most — are generally the ones who don't have access to books. This program will work wonders to correct that injustice, and I'm excited to watch it unfold."

"It's so exciting to be a part of We Give Books! Having met so many children who have never owned a book, its great knowing that we're working together to change this."
