Meet Will and Halt

Will | All his life, Will has dreamed of becoming a great knight, like the father he never knew. But at Choosing Day, the day all wards of the castle are told what career path they'll follow into adulthood, Will is overlooked by the Battlemaster and is instead chosen by The Ranger, Halt. As Will begins his training, he realizes that speed, agility, and intelligence are every bit as important as physical size and muscles. An as the kingdom prepares for war, Will learns about his own identity—who he is and what he is to become.

Halt | Senior Ranger Halt has been keeping his eye on Will for years. When Choosing Day comes, he shocks everyone by taking Will on as his apprentice. Although he never seems happy with Will's progress, and very rarely smiles, he is a thorough and generous mentor. Not to mention a dangerous warrior.
