Liza Kaplan is Senior Editor at Viking and joined Penguin Random House in 2007 before attaining her current position in 2013. She holds a BFA in musical theater, and English and American literature, from New York University. Liza is on the lookout for underrepresented stories and voices that inspired by real events, as well as superbly written realistic fiction, and stories with a slight touch of magical realism and/or fantasy—across both contemporary and historical—in picture books, middle grade, graphic novels, and YA.
