Brianna Fairman joined Putnam in 2024 and acquires a broad range of fiction, with a particular interest in book club fiction, mysteries and thrillers, speculative fiction, dark romance, and horror. She is drawn to fast-paced, high-concept, voice-driven stories that balance page-turning plots with big ideas. Her taste tends towards the strange, sinister, and darkly funny, though she’s also a sucker for books with big hearts and happy endings. She has a soft spot for stories of obsession, identity, sisterhood, and belonging, and for (regrettably) relatable characters who are impossible to look away from.

Brianna has edited and published authors including Araminta Hall, Bobby Finger, Jessica Urlichs, Jennifer Herrera, and more, and has worked with writers like Megan Abbott, Alma Katsu, Karen Joy Fowler, Ron Currie, and Rob Hart. Prior to joining Putnam, she was at MCD/FSG, where she edited and worked with bestselling and critically acclaimed authors such as Chris Pavone, Robin Sloan, Tessa Hulls, Tess Sharpe, Sara Sligar, Amanda Nguyen, Catherine Lacey, and more.
