Lexy Cassola, Associate Editor

Lexy Cassola joined Dutton in February 2018 and is an associate editor acquiring fiction. She is seeking literary and upmarket novels driven by complicated relationships in the book club, suspense, and horror genres; and she is always particularly drawn to a sassy or witty voice. She is also selectively acquiring nonfiction for the Plume list including fun books about pop culture, horror, food, and dating/marriage.

Lexy’s recent and upcoming Dutton titles include Our Little World by Karen Winn, a coming-of-age story about two sisters in the aftermath of a local girl’s disappearance; GMA Buzz Pick A Novel Obsession by Caitlin Barasch, a wry millennial debut about an aspiring novelist who stalks her boyfriend’s ex for writing material; Alicia Elliott’s And Then She Fell, a literary horror novel about a young Indigenous woman who discovers that her picture-perfect life isn’t what it seems; and Heidi Reimer’s The Mother Act, a complicated mother-daughter tale told against the backdrop of the theater world.
