Talia Benamy is the editor and backlist manager at Philomel. She holds a BA in English literature from Cornell University and edits books for young readers of all ages, including the She Persisted chapter book series, based on the bestselling picture books by Chelsea Clinton and Alexandra Boiger; Morris Award winner The Life and Crimes of Hoodie Rosen by Isaac Blum, also longlisted for the National Book Award; the Ai & Aiko series by Peter Draw, based on his viral Giphy sensation; the Teeny and Tilly books by Beanie Feldstein and Laura Watkins; and the Kindness Editions of Patricia Polacco books such as The Butterfly, In Our Mothers’ House, and The Junkyard Wonders. Talia sees books as having the amazing power to shape the way kids see the world around them, their role in it, and their ability to impact it.
