Tracy Behar, SVP and Publisher of Avery, joined Penguin in 2024. She was previously at Little, Brown and Company, where she served as VP, Publisher, and Editor in Chief of the imprint she founded, Little, Brown Spark, a leading force in prescriptive nonfiction.

She has overseen publishing across the categories of health, psychology, self-help, science, nature, parenting, business, and reference, and her roster of authors includes Mark Hyman, Andrew Weil, David Perlmutter, Kerry Washington, Daniel Kahneman, Nicholas Christakis, Sue Johnson, Amy Cuddy, Joel Fuhrman, John Ratey, William Sears, and Roy Peter Clark. Many of her books have been #1 bestsellers and have garnered awards, including the PEN/E. O. Wilson Literary Science Writing Award, the Dayton Literary Peace Prize, the J. Anthony Lukas Book Prize, and Books for a Better Life.

Prior to joining Little, Brown, Tracy held senior management positions at Atria Books; Broadway Books, where she was a founding member; and HarperCollins.
